Who we are.

Terranewt is an advisory and consulting services company for nature-based products and programs. Grant Ivison-Lane is the Founder and Managing Principal.

Grant has been working in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and ecosystem services assessment for over a decade. He has led large corporate GHG inventories and the development of complex software for reporting agricultural GHG emissions and removals.

Grant has been engaged with international standards development as a member of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Land Sector and Removals Guidance and the Actions and Market Instruments Technical Working Groups, and as a member to other standards-enabling working

groups like the Value Change Initiative. He is also a part-time faculty member at Colorado State University where he teaches Scope 3 GHG accounting.

Grant’s goal is to work with companies at a systems-level to optimize social benefits delivered from the land.

Why the name Terranewt?

Terra is Latin for Earth, while newts are a prevalent type of salamander where Grant grew up on the North Coast of California. Newts are a reminder to appreciate the small, fragile things that add richness to our planet.
